Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Communications, this newly created role presents an incredible opportunity to be part of the team to deliver the ambitious Fundraising Strategy of a large multi-faceted organisation in this important space. This position will be responsible for managing and stewarding a portfolio of current corporate supporters, as well as identifying and cultivating new prospective partners and major donors. Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining partnerships with corporate supporters through donations, sponsorship opportunities, employee fundraising, and events, in order to grow income.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the existing portfolio of corporate and major donor relationships, providing excellent account management to maximise income.
- Identify new corporate partnerships (including charity of the year and sponsorship opportunities) and secure by using appropriate engagement strategies including cold calling and networking.
- Identify and liaise with potential major donors and secure, ensuring excellent donor satisfaction while maximising donations.
- Develop and write professional funding proposals, corporate applications and update reports, and present face to face to existing and prospective corporates.
- Plan and manage fundraising campaigns to attract and sustain funding from both new and existing corporate supporters, including appeal mailings, the promotion of payroll giving, event participation, and other corporate products.
- Implement a stewardship programme for corporates to build relationships and keep them engaged with our work.
- Act as an ambassador for the DSPCA, representing the charity at external events, including networking and corporate events where public speaking may be a requirement.
- Ensure the CRM is used accurately to record income and communication with all contacts, and track, analyse and report on fundraising results.
- Ensure expenditure is managed in line with agreed budgets, delivering value for money across all areas, and exploring and optimising pro-bono and gift in kind support.
- Work with the communications and marketing team to promote the DSPCA brand and ensure corporate activities and partnerships are highlighted on the organisation website and social media platforms.
- Work closely with the Corporate Volunteering Manager to ensure a comprehensive, competitive offering to corporate partners.
- Ensure all activity is in alignment with the values and ethics of the DSPCA and complies with the DSPCA's policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as all legislation governing charity activity including GDPR.
- Carry out additional tasks as required.
Ideal Candidate
- A qualification in a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent relationship management skills with proven experience in donor, account, or customer management.
- A great communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to present to people with confidence.
- A self-starter who can work on own initiative, with the ability to problem solve and create efficiencies when possible
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Passion for animal welfare and the mission of the DSPCA
- Proven ability to work well in a team and manage both internal & external stakeholders
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems

- Permanent, Full-time role 35hours pw. Time in lieu offered for occasional out of hours work
