1. Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Mental Health Initiative Deputy Manager to join our team at Depaul Ireland. This role focuses on providing specialised mental health support to the migrant population across the Republic of Ireland (ROI) and people at risk of homelessness with complex issues in Northern Ireland (NI). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and coordinating mental health services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to individuals facing various challenges related to their migration and homelessness experiences, as well as their complex issues. Additionally, the role involves managerial responsibilities for supervising cross border case workers in both regions.
2. Key Areas of Responsibility:
Client Assessment and Support:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, considering their complex issues, cultural backgrounds and migration experiences.
- Develop individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based interventions to address clients' mental health and emotional well-being.
- Provide ongoing support and crisis intervention to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of the RIGHT SUPPORT: RIGHT TIME programme** and utilise a range of platforms to ensure accessibility and equity of access to the service, including drop-in clinics, live web chats, e-mail and phone referrals.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal team members and voluntary and community sector partners, including healthcare providers, social services, and community organisations, to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate services and resources, advocating for clients' needs and rights within the service system.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress, challenges, and intervention strategies.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Assist in the development and implementation of mental health programs tailored to the needs of the client group.
- Identify gaps in services and recommend improvements or new initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Lead group sessions and workshops focusing on mental health awareness, resilience building, and coping strategies.
- Develop and maintain collegiate working relationships with other RIGHT SUPPORT: RIGHT TIME** colleagues and all relevant partner organisations.
Managerial Duties:
- Supervise and provide guidance to 2 case workers in ROI and 1 case worker in NI, ensuring adherence to best practices and organisational policies.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development for team members.
- Coordinate team meetings and facilitate communication between cross border case workers in ROI and NI to ensure consistent service delivery.
Training and Supervision:
- Support the organisation and delivery of training sessions for staff and volunteers on relevant topics related to homelessness, mental health and cultural competence.
- Attend relevant and essential training as required by the project. Participate in and facilitate reflective practice groups.
- Engage in regular reflective practice and supervision sessions to maintain personal and professional development.
- Develop/manage an operational and well-functioning staff team and ensure team meetings & case conferences are undertaken, run/ participate in the planning and delivery of staff team days and review days as required, in conjunction with the Project Group Manager.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting assessments, care plans, progress notes, and interventions.
- Prepare regular reports on client outcomes, programme effectiveness, and service utilisation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations in all documentation and reporting activities.
- Work alongside the RIGHT SUPPORT: RIGHT TIME** Co-ordinator in ensuring timely and accurate reporting and record keeping.
- Contribute to the RIGHT SUPPORT: RIGHT TIME** evaluation process.
General Responsibilities:
- To manage all service user processes (adequate key working, referral, resettlement etc.) through the team
- To manage the staff rota and ensure adequate cover for project.
- In conjunction with the Local Management Team (LMT) and the Project Group Manager (PGM), ensure service policies and procedures are established and operating correctly and communicated to teams.
- Responsible together with the PGM and the LMT for ensuring the project operates as defined by the organizational Health and Safety Statement.
- Ensure that the organisational health and safety policies and procedures are implemented and that maintenance and repairs are managed in line with these.
- Support financial planning for the project with the PGM, manage the project budget, prepare monthly payroll and ensure cash procedures are followed.
- Oversee the management and support of volunteers within the project
- Facilitate the requirements of Fundraising and Communications team and liaise with project staff as required.
- Participate in the organisational on-call rota.
- Act as an ambassador for Depaul, demonstrating our Values through all aspects of your role.

3. Person Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mental health case management, with experience of working with culturally diverse populations.
- Strong understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by diverse populations experiencing homelessness, addiction, displacement, or cultural adjustment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full clean driving license and access to own car.
- DESIRABLE: Proficiency in relevant languages spoken by the migrant population in Dublin is an asset.

4. General Requirements
- While the line manager is specified above, this does not preclude other senior roles from directing or reviewing work or setting dotted line collaborative working relationships between same or different level positions.
- All tasks should be completed in an accurate manner and supported by a clear electronic and hard copy filing system, as appropriate.
- All post holders are required to participate in internal / external meetings as required, including regular supervision and annual appraisal.
- All post holders are required to ensure that all Depaul Ireland policies and procedures are being adhered to, in particular those relating to health and safety, code of practice and confidentiality.
- All post holders are required to carry out their duties in a professional manner maintaining a high-quality standard of work and always working in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of Depaul Ireland.
- As Depaul Ireland is an all-island organisation, regular liaison and collaboration with staff across the island of Ireland is required.

Partnership: Delivered by a unique collaboration of voluntary organisations from both sides of the border, including Inspire, Mencap, Cedar, Apex, Respond, ARC, Depaul, Red Cross, and SCI, with 430 years of combined experience.
Target Beneficiaries: People in Northern Ireland and Border counties of Ireland, focusing on underserved communities such as those in areas of multiple deprivation, people with disabilities, and refugees.
