We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Youth Advocacy Worker to join our dynamic team. This role will involve collaboration with other team members in GOSHH to achieve the best possible outcomes for those accessing and benefitting from our services.

Job Description
This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining individual and group services for LGBTI+ youth, including sexual health.Working with the team in GOSHH, they will strive to ensure that every young person accessing our services has a positive experience and the best possible outcome both personally and professionally. They will develop a unique journey of care based on the needs and challenges of those accessing our service within a person centred framework
Responsibilities and Role
· Working in conjunction with the team, respond to the needs young people under the age of 18 by facilitating and maintaining youth groups for people who have diverse genders and orientations
· Carry out an assessment of needs, providing interventions, supports, information, advocacy, referrals and pathways where necessary
· Adopt a broad interpretation of support to embrace one to one, social groups and other support mechanisms available within GOSHH and broader community
· To increase visibility of the role and service through networking with agencies/statutory bodies and similar organisations within the youth sector
· To work in conjunction with other departments in GOSHH to provide talks/training/workshops for young people
· To sit on working groups and sub-groups within the organisation where directed and appropriate
· Collaborate with management and other team members in relation to supports, training and strategic objectives of the organisation.
· To represent the organisation and advocate on behalf of the young people we work for at events and on committees
· To record statistical data, contribute to annual reports and other working papers and submissions where required
· To assist in preparation of promotional material, social media posts, awareness and help in planning fundraising events when required
Successful candidate will have:
· A relevant professional qualification
· 12 months experience or equivalent of working in similar role
· Awareness of LGBTI+ issues and an inclusive approach
· Teamwork experience and skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Report writing and IT skills, including social media
· Proven ability of maintaining confidentiality
· An ability to reflect on personal development needs
· Warm, welcoming and non-judgemental attitude
Salary: €34,907.60
Contract: Full-time 35 hours per week, a 6 month probationary period.
Hours: 0930 - 1730 Monday to Thursday, 1100 – 1900 Friday to co-facilitate a youth group. Genderwise youth group runs monthly on a Saturday 1100 – 1300 for which the post holder will be entitled to time off in lieu.
Holidays: 25 days a year
