Their mission is to help individuals rebuild their lives with dignity, empowering them to move towards independence. To sustain and expand this essential work, they are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Fundraising Manager to raise the organisation’s profile and generate income from Irish and EU sources.
About the Role
As Fundraising Manager, you will lead and implement Midlands Simon Community’s fundraising strategy, developing new initiatives and strengthening donor relationships to meet income targets. You will build partnerships with corporate sponsors, schools, universities, and local communities while also identifying grant opportunities to support the organisation’s growth. Additionally, you will oversee fundraising staff and volunteers, ensuring an efficient and effective fundraising programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Midlands Simon Community’s fundraising strategy, monitoring progress and adjusting plans quarterly.
- Manage fundraising activities to meet income targets, building relationships with donors, community supporters, and corporate sponsors.
- Identify and secure funding from grants, EU funding programmes, and local government opportunities.
- Increase online donations and enhance the organisation’s social media fundraising efforts.
- Coordinate national and regional fundraising events and explore innovative fundraising approaches.
- Ensure financial compliance, maintain accurate income records, and oversee tax claims.
- Lead a team of fundraising staff and volunteers, recruiting and developing their skills.
- Work closely with media and key stakeholders to raise awareness and communicate fundraising goals effectively.
What We Are Looking For
- 1–2 years’ experience in fundraising, event organisation, or income generation (commercial or non-profit).
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding fundraising targets.
- Strong digital skills, including social media and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and results-driven with a proactive mindset.
- Empathy and passion for supporting people affected by homelessness.
- A full clean driving licence (essential).
Desirable:
- Experience working with volunteers and in the homeless sector.
