At Corduff, Barnardos provide a trauma-informed family support service, delivering services and interventions for children and their families. The Project Administrator will provide the administrative day-to-day support to the service such as Springboard and OASIS (Opportunities Assisting Staying in School) programmes that have been in operation in the Dublin 15 area for more than 15 years.
The OASIS programme was initiated in order to support children in their transition from primary to secondary school taking into consideration the high percentage of early school leavers in the locality.
At Corduff Springboard Project we also provide a combination of Family Support and Initial Child Protection Assessment work on behalf of Tusla. While this role will support the Family Support Work, the Project Administrator may also be required to support with Initial Assessment administrative tasks, where required.
Our teams work in partnership with and promotes inter-agency collaboration to ensure positive outcomes for children and their parents. We work closely with the social work teams, the voluntary / community services, PHN, Gardai and Tusla Prevention Partnership and Family Support Services
Job Description
Post: Project Administrator
Location: Corduff, Dublin 15
Responsible to: Project Leader
Works with: Barnardos staff, volunteers and service users.
Job Purpose
To provide an efficient and flexible administrative support service to the project in an integrated way with the wider Barnardos Organisation.
Core Job Requirements
- To respond in an efficient friendly and appropriate manner to all communications with the office i.e. post, e-mail, telephone and fax and in person.
- To provide administrative support to the service utilising relevant IT packages, ensuring documents are presented and formatted to a high standard.
- To maintain an up to date and effective filing system.
- To maintain an efficient, accurate and up to date financial, Human Resource and stock/ inventory recording systems as appropriate.
- To gather information statistics and prepare reports as required, including administration of databases as appropriate to the role.
- To be vigilant to any concerns regarding the protection and welfare of children and to bring them to the attention of your designated person in a timely manner, in keeping with the Barnardos Child Protection policy.
- To deal effectively and efficiently with any enquiries/referrals to the project.
- To support project staff with the establishment and maintenance of their files and record keeping systems, including the database.
Requirements specific to the post
- To maintain efficient office systems such as updating our service directories and to establish new administrative systems where necessary.
- To ensure confidentiality and data protection (GDPR) is adhered to at all times in relation to information on children, families, staff and all other matters within the project.
- To be responsive answering the door – greeting children, parents, and visitors as required.
- General household duties may be required as part of this role.
- Support to Project Staff with regards to Group Work Programmes/workshops/training events such as; preparation and booking of rooms, sending out information to service users and community groups regarding upcoming events, ordering refreshments, collating attendance lists, etc.
- Support with the co-ordination of Committees and the provision of admin support to these meetings and other such interagency forums/sub groups.
- To support the management of the programmes from the service
- To support the interagency work of the service with a focus on programme promotion and information sharing within the community, particularly giving administrative support to community/ interagency events.
- To support external communications for the project including written, print and social media where requested such as; the maintenance and administration of the projects’ communications, newsletters, information leaflets, etc.

- Identify training needs with your line manager and participate in training opportunities appropriate to the role.
- To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or local Health & Safety Officer.
- To be vigilant to any concerns regarding the protection and welfare of children and to bring them to the attention of the Barnardos Designated Person in a timely manner, in keeping with the Barnardos Child Protection policies.
- To participate in the efficient flow of information within the organisation by sharing and seeking information as appropriate.
- To undertake other duties as may be requested by the line manager from time to time.
- To undertake your work in a manner that is friendly, flexible and informal.

Experience
- Minimum of two years’ directly relevant experience essential.
- Experience of working in schools or within a community setting with children and families is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Junior cycle certificate of achievement or equivalent level of education, minimum.
A working ability in IT Systems, such MS office suite and finance skills are essential.
The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Corduff, Dublin 15 project but may be required in the future to work in other project(s) in the Dublin area in line with Organisational needs.
