Wexford Rape Crisis (WEXRC): Adolescent (& Adult) Psychotherapist Vacancy
(2 days per week, based in Wexford town)
1 Year contract
WEXRC is a service offering counselling to women, men and young people who have been affected in any way by Domestic, Sexual or Gender-based violence (DSGBV). In addition, we offer support counselling to a partner, family member or friend who is supporting the person who has been abused.
We invite applications from qualified and accredited Adolescent Psychotherapists to provide individual counselling services to young people aged 12 years and upwards as well as Parental Support. Depending on demand, there may also be the opportunity to work with adults.
Candidates must possess:
- An accredited qualification in counselling/psychotherapy in child and/or adolescent psychotherapy, recognised by IACP, IAHIP, IAPTPor equivalent body. Acknowledgement will also be given to the years of experience of practitioners who didn’t attain a formal qualification in working with children but have completed multiple short courses to date and have substantial experience working with under 18s (10 years plus)
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in working with young people.
- Experience of working with adolescent survivors DSGBV.
- Demonstrable evidence of CPD relevant to the role.
- A flexible approach and ability to handle a varied workload.
- Experience of providing Parental Support.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, report-writing and data entry.
