Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind (IGDB) empowers individuals who are vision impaired and families of children with autism to lead more independent and mobile lives. They are looking for a National Events Officer to join their team and help them grow their mission through impactful events nationwide.
The Role
As the National Events Officer, you will work closely with the Fundraising Team Lead to plan, execute, and oversee regional and national events. Your role will focus on ensuring income targets are met, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and driving innovation in fundraising initiatives. This position involves nationwide travel and may require work outside regular hours to attend events and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of regional and national events, ensuring targets are met.
- Manage the full profit and loss of events, driving year-on-year growth.
- Identify opportunities for new events and partnerships in third-party initiatives.
- Collaborate with Regional Development Officers, Fundraising Branches, and volunteers to expand IGDB’s reach.
- Act as the key point of contact for volunteers, providing training, support, and event oversight.
- Work with the Communications team to promote events and ensure visibility.
- Ensure compliance with permits, insurance, and health and safety standards.
- Implement a reporting system to track event performance and outputs using in-house tools.
Experience
- Three years experience in event management, fundraising, or project management with a track record of delivering large-scale events with multiple stakeholders.
- A flair for business development and ability to meet targets.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multitask across different projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Reporting to: Fundraising Lead
Job Type: Full Time - Monday to Friday with occasional weekend and evening work
Essential Conditions
- Full clean driving licence and a willingness to travel to various regional locations (essential).
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland (essential).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required on an ad hoc basis and acceptance of the need to travel nationwide.
