About Us
BankTrack is the international tracking, campaigning, and civil society support organisation dedicated to holding private sector commercial banks accountable for the activities they finance. With over two decades of experience, BankTrack combines deep research, critical engagement with banks and unique campaigning strategies, leveraging strong connections with the global bank campaigners', climate and human rights movements. This includes grassroots organisations and partners from the Global South, representing communities directly impacted by bank-financed projects and corporations.
Founded in 2003 as a global network of organisations targeting commercial banks, BankTrack transitioned into an independent organisation in 2015 with the support of its members. Since then, it has been at the forefront of driving banks towards greater accountability and responsibility in their financing decisions.
